Angela Shcolnik, MA, LE, CLT
Angela Shcolnik is the owner and lead Clinical Skin Care Specialist at the Rx (Skin) Lab, offering results-focused skin care treatments. Her expertise is derived from years of study and real world experience, including a Bachelor of Social Work from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Humanities from California State University, Dominguez Hills. A graduate of the Imaj Institute in Scottsdale, she is licensed and certified in modalities such as aesthetic laser, laser safety, and all aspects of advanced skin care treatments including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microcurrent, dermalplaning, collagen induction therapy and LED light therapies.
Angela is a certified permanent makeup technician and a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals. In addition to the SPCP, she is also a member of the Associated Skin Care Professionals and the Society of Dermatology Skin Care Specialists. Her desire to stay informed of the most cutting-edge technologies and skin care ingredients has her regularly pursuing continuing education.
Her advanced training in skin analysis with Florence Barrett-Hill, Author and internationally acclaimed Aesthetic Educator and Practitioner gives her an edge in developing treatment plans to deal with conditions such as acne, rosacea/sensitive, and mature/sun damaged skin. She believes healthy skin is a reflection of inner health and achieved through a balance of nutrition, lifestyle and emotional well-being.
Angela has trained with renowned Author and Physician Deepak Chopra in the areas of Mind-Body Healing, Meditation and Holistic Wellness and incorporates this knowledge into her skin care practice.
An Arizona native, Angela knows first hand the effects the sun has on the skin, altering the cells at a genetic level, causing DNA damage. “ We are left with aged, weathered, looking skin and an increased chance of developing skin lesions or worse, skin cancer.” Being an avid cyclist and hiker she is passionate about educating fellow athletes on proper skin care and sun damage prevention. “Light based technologies and performance ingredients in cosmeceuticals can help reduce the effects of sun damage and improve the texture and skin tone, resulting in smoother, healthier, younger looking skin.” Angela is the writer of the blog Skin DNA, that promotes and educates the awareness of skin health and the latest advances in the skin care industry.
